History 205: World Geography (Dual Credit through Central Methodist University)

Course Description:  An examination of major traditions: physical geography, historical-cultural geography and location geography.

Course Objectives: World Geography is intended to guide the student to an understanding of how humans have utilized the earth, relationship between and within cultural groups, and increase students overall map skills.

Course Schedule/Strategy: the course is divided into six modules (see below).  The module’s rhythm is map test (each realm), presentation, and comprehensive exam.

Module 0: introduction to geography

Module 1: Europe andRussia

Module 2: TheAmericas (North, Middle and South)

Module 3: Modern Middle East (MME) and Sub-SaharaAfrica(SSA)

Module 4: Asian realm (South, East andSoutheast Asia)

Module 5:Australia and Oceania

* The tentative schedule module 0 -2 first semester and 3-5 second semester; however the schedule subject to change, base on student learning and other extenuating factors.

Class Requirements:

Standard School Supplies: Pencils, Pens, notebook, flash (thumb) drive
