Mrs. Dixon – Band/Choir
The Schuyler R-1 band students are taking orders for magnetic picture frames. Orders are being taken from November 12, 2012 until November 20, 2012. Students are to try and take orders for at least 10 pciture frames. Since no one else has sold anything like this before the opportunity is there to even take more orders than that. One picture frames says “Schuyler R-1″ and the other frame says “Class of ____________” and any year can be selected. Even past years for graduates. If you have any questions then contact me.
The frames are $4.00 each. Here is a copy of the order form that shows what the picture frames look like.
I will be available for after school tutoring for 5th and 6th grade students beginning on October 25, 2012. If students need to stay in their regular education classroom for tutoring then they must do so. Students will need to fill out proper forms in the office if they are going to be riding the tutoring bus. You may pick up your students at 4:30 if they are not going to be riding the tutoring bus . If you have any questions please call me at the high school at 766-2424.
Hello my name is Mrs. Dixon!
I will be using this web page to inform students and parents of upcoming events with dates and times.
If you have any questions please call me at 660-341-3351 or e-mail me at ddixon@schuyler.k12.mo.us. I will post information about performances and evens as soon as I get it. Most times we do not get information until the week of the event, but I will let you know as soon as we get it.
I am originally from Scotland County where I grew up on a farm southeast of Memphis, Missouri. Upon graduating from high school in the class of 1996 I attended Culver-Stockton College and got a BS degree in k-12 instrumental and k-12 vocal music and a minor in church music. I graduated in May of 2000 and started teaching at Schuyler County in August of 2000. I married a resident of Schuyler County, Joe Dixon on September 21, 2002.
I have two children Hayden and Claudia who are in 2nd and 1st grade. We live on a farm north of Glenwood almost on the Iowa line. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, sewing, and doing craft projects.

5th and 6th Grade Band
We will be spending the next several classes giving the 5th graders the opportunity to try and chose what instrument they would like to learn to play. The school has a very limited selction of instruments but I will do my best to help you and your child find an instrument with as little cost to you as possible. There is a rental program through the West Music Store in Ottumwa that is a rent to own program. You can rent used or new instruments and prices vary according to instrument and age of instrument. You can rent a used instrument and move up to a new instrument if you decide to purchase. If you rent now and decide to purchase later I believe money paid towards rent will go toward purchase. Most all questions will need to be directed at them because if you rent an instrument the agreement is between you and the company and has nothing to do with the school. The phone numbers for West Music Store in Ottumwa is 641-682-8033 or 800-248-7001.
To help with the confusion of when 5th and 6th grade band is scheduled I am attaching the schedule for the school year. This schedule will not change and if you have any questions please contact me at the school at 660-766-2424 or the elementary office at 660-766-2296.
