Mrs. Wolf – Computers

Hello!  I am Mrs. Wolf.  This is my fourth year teaching at Schuyler R-1.  I graduated from Schuyler in 2001, moved to Kansas City where I got my Bachelors in Business Administration degree from UMKC, then my Master’s in Education degree from Rockhurst University, and taught for two years at Shawnee Mission West High School.  Then I decided to move “back home”.  I enjoy the atmosphere of a small town and a small school where I know all the students.

I have been married to my husband, Jesse, for 8 years.  He teaches science and coaches baseball at La Plata so when I’m not cheering on the Rams I am cheering on the Bulldogs.

We also have a 2 year old daughter, Kensington.

This is my first year being in charge of the school yearbook, I am the football cheerleading sponsor, prom sponsor, and co-FBLA advisor.  I look forward to a great year!

An introductory course to computers and keyboarding.  Students will become familiar with basic computer terminology and components.  Proper keyboarding will be emphasized.  Students will learn correct finger placement, correct typing techniques, and appropriate posture, which will receive primary emphasis with speed and accuracy being given secondary emphasis.  Students will learn Internet safety rules and correct procedures for conducting research on the Internet.  Students will also learn the fundamentals of Microsoft PowerPoint and have hands-on practice creating and giving presentations.  Some class time will be given to produce reports and conduct research for other classes.

A second year course for students having completed the seventh grade course.  Correct keyboarding techniques will be reviewed and practiced throughout the course.  Students will learn the fundamentals of Microsoft Word and Excel and will be briefly introduced to Microsoft Access.  Some class time will be given to produce reports and conduct research for other classes.

A vital part of 7th and 8th grade Computers is learning how to use the keyboard correctly and type using the correct finger placement.  It is important to always type using this method, which can be difficult for students who are used to typing incorrectly.
