V/JV Girls practice starts Monday 11/1 from 9:30-11:30am

Varsity/JV boys basketball practice begins on Monday (11/1) from 9-11am. Interested players must have a physical on file with the school before they can participate in practice. Wednesday of last week, FBLA members went to the corn maze in LaPlata with area chapters from District 3 FBLA. They participated in a scavenger hunt, roasted hot dogs and s’mores and was able to meet other students from surrounding districts.

Ecology students are doing a survey of the trees on school grounds. They identified the species and used a tool to estimate the height of the trees.




Students in grades 7-12 participated in a Career Day event today at school. Several area businesses were in attendance to present to the students. Special thanks to our presenters!

Our varsity football season has come to a close. Keytesville forfeited this Friday’s (10/29) game due to low numbers. Since we are also dealing with injuries/low numbers, we did not feel like it was safe to compete. With that being said, we are forfeiting our game vs North Shelby the following Friday (11/5).

October Students of the Month for Jr and Sr High goes to:
Haylee Burns, nominated by Dr. Brush. Haylee is a well-rounded, very active student who works hard to maintain her grades and is involved in many extra curricular activities. Haylee volunteers her time at surrounding nursing homes visiting in costume(s), and works part-time at the Kirksville Golf Club. Haylee has a very positive outlook.
Caden Veatch, nominated by Mr. Carpenter. Caden is the co-captain of Jr. High football team. As a student he is well prepared everyday for class and a overall leader for the Jr. High class.
Easton Kimber, nominated by Mrs. Carvajal. Easton plays football, percussion, and jokes on his second-hour classmates. He always works hard in the classroom, maintains a positive attitude, and wears a smile.
