JH/HS January Students of the Month:
Ian Jackson was nominated by Mr. Kliethermes because he has a deep interest in science and how things work. His questions show that he is looking to understand scientific concepts and not just to memorize them for tests.
Ren Spurgeon was nominated by Mrs. Thompson because she is hard working, focused and is consistently seeking to support and uplift her fellow students. Ren's willingness to help others and enthusiasm for science has earned her my student of the month nomination.
Chelsea Miller was nominated by Mrs. Blessing for many reasons. Chelsea has taken all three of Mrs. Blessing's high school science classes and done very well. She is also her senior assistant this year and helps with lab set up and classroom organization. Finally, Chelsea is the Student Council President and works hard to keep the school environment positive. Mrs. Blessing has enjoyed having Chelsea as a student and she will be missed at SCR-1 next year.

Sixth grade science students learned about minerals, observed them with a magnifying glass, and tested to see what color of streak each mineral made on paper. 🪨💎
