This week is MSHSAA Winter Sports Officials Appreciation Week. These dedicated men and women take time away from their work schedules and their families to provide our student-athletes the opportunity to play the games they love and contribute to the overall experience our student-athletes receive while participating in educational athletics. Thank you from all of us at Schuyler!

The High School Mini-Med School at the University of Missouri Columbia is returning this June for two sessions. Session 1 runs from June 1-5 and Session 2 is from June 8-12. This overnight camp is for current Missouri high school juniors (rising seniors) who are interested in a career in medicine. Students will attend lectures and will participate in the same Patient Based Learning (PBL) curriculum that Mizzou medical students do. We will have lots of hands-on clinical experiences, time our simulation and anatomy centers and social events in the evenings. This is a great experience for anyone who is considering medical school after college. The cost for this camp is $650 which includes all the camp fees, lodging, camp deposit of $50 and meals. There are some scholarships available, and the application is free to complete. The application is open January 17 and is due March 16 along with a transcript and a letter of recommendation from a past or current science teacher. For more information about the camp and the application visit: https://medicine.missouri.edu/offices-programs/education/pre-med-outreach-programs/mini-medical-school
