Second grade has been working on their money unit. While learning to count back change in math, Mrs. Applegate’s students took turns being the shopper and the cashier.

Mrs. Veatch’s third grade enjoyed a snack of bagels and cream cheese in honor of reading the story “Jalapeño Bagels” in Reading class this month.




While studying the scientific method, our fourth grade classes did an experiment to see how fast Peeps would dissolve in 3 different liquids: Pepsi, water, and Bai juice! They didn’t dissolve completely, but they got to see some interesting things happen!

Macon MS track meet that was postponed and rescheduled to 5/2 has been rescheduled again to 5/3.
We had the pleasure of hosting 24 Truman education students this semester! We also had a visiting faculty member, Ms. Wu who is a teacher in China, come for a day to observe! It’s been a wonderful experience. We wish you the best with finals!




Kelli Harris from MU Extension has been teaching Kids in the Kitchen lessons to our fifth and sixth grade students this quarter. They are learning to make and tasting a variety of healthy foods and snacks!


Many elementary students started MAP testing yesterday and will continue today. Their buddies from another grade are cheering them on!




Students that are 16 and older and interested in healthcare careers, check out Schuyler County Nursing Home's internships available this summer, starting May 16!


Baseball game tonight is being moved to Scotland. First pitch at 5pm. Bus will leave at 3:15pm.

Schuyler R-1 students competed at the Special Olympics track meet at Truman today. Heather received a silver, bronze, and gold! Alyias received three golds!
