Friday night, Schuyler hosted a Lewis & Clark Conference quad meet with Knox, Salisbury, and Westran.
The Schuyler Varsity defeated Westran 430-70 and also beat Salisbury 330-210. The Rams will play the Eagles later in the conference season. Congrats to Jaxson Kaden, Deacon Schoonover, Colin Oliver, and Brendon Aeschliman.
The Schuyler JV played won three games—beating Westran 290-60, Knox twice 200-130 and 230-160. Congrats to Kensington Wolf, Aubrey Poe, Oakley Thompson, Peyton Rice, Asher Applegate, Taylor Erwin, Ava Crawford, and Drayven Koser.

First graders produced biographies this week in writing. Next week, they will work on writing autobiographies.









Fifth graders wrapped up their unit on the solar system by constructing a model.







We want to give a shout-out to Miss Melinda for serving slushies today!



Sixth graders are learning about Ancient Mesopotamia in social studies. They tried their hand at cuneiform.




We had our February school family time mixed in with Valentine's Day and Courtwarming last week!










The Courtwarming dress up days and festivities were a lot of fun last week!










We had a wonderful Valentine's Day last Friday at Schuyler Elementary!










Second grade did a cloud in a jar experiment within their unit on the water cycle.



Coach Fischer, Coach Burns, and their cheer and dance teams organized a very pink and very cute Mini Rams camp and performance for Courtwarming!

Schuyler R-1 Schools is happy to announce the hiring of Mr. Ryan Kaden as assistant principal. Mr. Kaden, a 1997 graduate of Schuyler, has taught social studies for 22 years. The last 12 years, he has taught at Schuyler while also coaching junior high basketball and high school scholar bowl. Mr. Kaden notes that "I will miss being in the classroom but am ready for a new stage of my career and a new challenge."

Sophomores visited the Kirksville Area Technical Center to learn about the programs offered to them their juniors and senior years.
