Last week, third grade students read a story titled “How to Raise a Raisin.” The students enjoyed learning about the process and even used a dehydrator to dry some grapes and make their own raisins.

Our 6th graders led K-5 classes around the school to review PBS expectations on January 3rd. We then had a school-wide PBS kickoff on Friday where pairs in each classroom made a mosaic ram with the supplies they received for answering correct trivia questions.

Thank you, Reece and Cooper, for serving popsicles today!

The Schuyler Scholar Bowl team traveled to South Shelby’s SSWIN tournament on Saturday, January 7. In morning pool play, the Varsity Rams went 2-3. They picked up wins against Knox B and Moberly C while losing to Palmyra A, Hallsville A, and Mexico B. The JV squad was competitive in their matches but went 1-4 on the morning. They lost to Knox A, Moberly A, North Shelby A, and Hallsville B. They got a win against Scotland B.
In afternoon play, the Varsity Rams went 4-0. They defeated Scotland A, Knox A, Moberly B, and Hallsville B. The JV Rams also went 4-0 in the afternoon play. They beat Palmyra B, Knox B, North Shelby B, and Moberly B.
On the day, Colin Oliver led the Varsity in scoring with 32 toss ups. Carter Hoffmeyer had 28, Hayden Dixon 21, and Mark Farnsworth 7. For the JV Rams, Parker Dabney answered 25 toss ups, Jaxson Kaden 24, Deacon Schoonover 12, Asher Applegate 4, and Drayven Koser 3. Because both Rams teams had such balanced scoring, no Rams made the all tournament team.
Against schools of Schuyler’s size, our teams did very well. The Scholar Bowl Rams are looking forward to a very successful.
