Lady Rams take 2nd at the LaPlata Tournament

The Schuyler Varsity Scholar Bowl team went 3-2 in morning play to earn a spot in the championship pool at the 2023 Palmyra Academic Winter Showdown. The other schools in the championship round included Mexico, Piasa, Moberly, Columbia-Hickman, Hallsville, Kirksville, and South Shelby. Schuyler lost to Mexico and Hickman before defeating South Shelby. The Rams then fell to Kirksville and Hallsville in close matches. The Rams finished seventh out of thirty two teams with a record of 4-6. But, by virtue of the Rams’ victory against South Shelby, the Rams took home the small school championship. Congratulations to Hayden Dixon, Carter Hoffmeyer, Carson Allen, Mark Farnsworth, and Colin Oliver.
The JV Rams also competed in the tournament. They finished at 3-6 but held their own against several Varsity squads. The JV came up with a nice win against Scotland’s Varsity in overtime. Congratulations to Parker Dabney, Jaxson Kaden, Easton Kimber, Deacin Schoonover, and Sienna Lovekamp.
Overall, the Varsity Rams are 10-10. The JV is 7-11.
